Hope For The Heart has seen a dream become a reality with the launching of Biblical Counseling Services (BCS). The overarching goal of the BCS is to provide face-to-face counseling sessions. BCS desires to offer God’s Truth for Today’s Problems in order to build a bridge of hope to those in need. All of our counseling sessions currently take place at the Hope Center located in Plano, Texas. BCS is currently led by Karen Billman, M.Ed., LPC-S.
BCS does not offer 24-hour, on-call counseling services.

About our Counselors

Karen Billman, M.Ed., LPC-S
Karen has a heart for the Lord and a passion to work with those who are seeking the full and abundant life God has for them. Knowing firsthand how everyone needs help in their journey, Karen longs to help others see that the Lord created each of them for a thriving, loving and intimate relationship with Him. Her heart’s desire is to provide sound biblical counsel for their circumstances so that they can be the person He created them to be.
Karen is a native of Dallas and received her Master’s degree at Dallas Baptist University. Prior to joining Hope For The Heart, she served with the Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services, providing family preservation work and counseling.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor–Supervisor with Hope For The Heart, Karen offers counseling in the following areas:

Meagan Yarbrough, M.A., LPC
Meagan has a passion for helping others experience true healing through Jesus Christ. She desires to assist others in understanding love, grace, and forgiveness in Christ. By revealing God’s view of each person, Meagan strives to help others understand an accurate view of themselves. Her hope is to equip others with knowledge and truth that allows them to live the life God created them to live.
Meagan received a Master of Arts in Counseling Degree at Dallas Baptist University, and is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern. Meagan is supervised by Karen Billman, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor.
Prior to joining Hope for the Heart, Meagan gained experience working at a mental health facility.

Eric Puente, Th.M.
One of Eric’s deepest desires is to help people become more like Jesus Christ through the resources of the new life and Scripture. After experiencing a major transformation in his life through the power of the gospel, he believes God can heal our hurts and change our hearts in order to find God’s peace and take our place in God’s greater purpose.
Eric has served the Lord as a pastor, sports chaplain, professor, missionary and conference speaker. Also, he has served several Hispanic churches in the DFW area with ongoing pastoral counseling. He earned his Master’s degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Eric offers pastoral counseling in the following areas:

- Ministry issues
Lanae Jobe, M.A., LPC
Lanae strives to show others the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus Christ, while helping them understand how their past has influenced their present. Lanae wants to assist others in finding true emotional and mental healing through Christ. She wants others understand their past does not define them, and their true identity is found in and through Christ.
Lanae received a Master of Arts in Counseling degree at Dallas Baptist University. Prior to joining Hope for the Heart, Lanae completed her internship at the Paul Meier Day Program.
