I knew there were others like me, but I still felt very alone

I knew there were others like me, but I still felt very alone

I can remember in 2008, living in California with a group of friends. I had just graduated the year before. I had some important decisions to make about a career and where I was going to be in the future. And I thought I have a college degree and should be able to get a job very easily.

But, I just wasn’t having any success. Despite the fact that I knew there were others out there like me, I felt very alone. In praying to God, I began thinking, “what’s the disconnect between the promise that you told me that you had good things for me… and me not achieving that?”

And the turning point was just for me to be able to release it to Him.  And I remember just the weight of all of the anxiety of five months of looking for a job,  the anxiety of failed dreams or false expectations,  I just remember that being lifted, and me being able to lay that down at the cross and allow Christ to burden that for me.
